This beautifully proportioned marble fireplace is decorated with fluted frieze and jambs, recessed returns and distinctive roundels or ‘bull’s eyes’ to the cornerblocks. A quintessential expression of the Regency style, it echoes the work of the architect John Nash (1752 – 1835) who designed the elegant terraces and crescents of central London and the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
