These naturalistically carved, recumbent greyhounds are carved in statuary marble and taken from original examples made in coade stone by Joseph Gott (1786-1860). Gott found fame in England for his studies of dogs and portrait busts, as well as for his sculptured marble hands of Queen Victoria’s children.
