A late 18th century statuary and Sienna marble chimneypiece in the Adam / Wyatt neo-classical revival style. The beautiful statuary centre tablet of this elegant chimneypiece features circular patera decorated with flowers and draped with a garland of peonies, grapes, peaches and other fruits and flowers, all hanging and falling from rings held by clasps. The tablet is flanked on either side by Sienna panels inlaid in white with broken Greek key fret, while the blockings are carved with lidded urns with scrolling handles, held up by rope decorated, moulded corbel brackets. The breakfront shelf features a dentil moulding with egg and dart below, with repeated egg and dart finely carved into the white aperture. Solid plinth blocks support this wealth of fine decoration.
