A late 18th century statuary and Sienna marble Neo – classical chimneypiece
after James Wyatt. Circa 1785. The moulded shelf above the frieze decorated with a band of finger flutes and centered with a tablet carved with a lidded tazza shaped vase, draped with a chain of flowers which falls from the scroll handles. The fluted jambs laid on a sienna marble ground, which continues under the frieze. The carved leaf decorated capitals above the blockings with carved classical lidded urns. The aperture framed with simple moulded bead in statuary marble. The whole on white statuary blocks.
