A pine and pewter decorated chimney piece, George III circa 1770 in the manner of Robert Adam.
The rectangular, inverted breakfront shelf is enriched with two
running bands of pewter leaves above a frieze centred by a rectangular moulded panel set with a classical urn draped with husks and paterae. This is flanked by classical vases hung with garlands of husks divided by pelters above a running band of leaves. The moulded and panelled jambs decorated with sprays of anthemions and leaves have classical capitals and are headed by panels filled with sprays of leaves
supported by classical stands, raised on squared blocks.
