A large and imposing Geo.111 statuary marble, sienna and jasper palladian chimneypiece. The center tablet carved with a water spaniel looking at his own reflection in the stream below. Taken from Aesop’s fable, the dog and the shadow, the moral of which is “thou shalt not covet”. 18th. Century, circa 1760.
